Destination Guide to Khlong Nin, Koh Lanta

Away from the busy part of Koh Lanta, Khlong Nin has a village feel with bars and restaurants lining the road and beachfront.

While there’s a range of accomodation from 5-star hotels to backpacker friendly bungalows, I’d recommend this area for families and couples on a budget to mid-range holiday.

Khlong Nin Beach Guide

  • The beach here is great for swimming, even at low tide
  • Like many of the beaches in Koh Lanta, it is a little rocky in some places, the northern stretch is the best spot

Where to eat & drink in Khlong Nin

  • Otto Bar: Popular restaurant with travellers and expats in the heart of the Khlong Nin beachfront. Try their BBQ & burgers
  • Diamond Cliff: Clifftop restaurant with stunning views out over the sea and a path down to a secluded beach
  • Yang Restaurant: This is the place you want to go to if you want to splashing out from the usual ‘Thai & Western” fare. Yang means barbecue in Thai, so the menu is based on choosing your meat (or seafood) then accompanying sides. They have a great range of craft beers and delicious desserts on offer to top off your meal. It’s really popular so reservations are recommended
  • Mong Bar: For a drink in the jungle, head to Mong Bar. There are signs all over the island advertising parties here but in reality it’s pretty chill, which may have something to do with the ‘special’ drinks they serve!
